WCHCA HANDBOOK
MEMBERS &/OR GUESTS of the WCHCA Heritage shall agree to abide by these camp rules and regulations contained in the Handbook. Violations of any of these rules and regulations or laws may be grounds for revocation of any contract or lot lease, and eviction from the grounds. [In this] FAMILY-ORIENTED CAMP, parents or guardians are responsible for their children’s behavior and compliance with all camp rules. QUIET TIME AND CURFEW for minor children are 11 PM to 7 AM. God is Love Activity Center doors will be locked at 11 PM. It’s important not to disturb your neighbors during these hours. ATTIRE - We ask that you clothe yourselves in ways that communicate dignity, respect, and self-awareness, and that consider the spiritual well-being of others. Use discretion in wearing revealing or offensive clothing. THE LAUNDROMAT, located behind the public restrooms, is available for your use on an honor system for payment. Make payments to the WCHCA treasurer. RECREATION AND PLAY THE CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND is located on Victory Way. The road is closed to any motorized vehicles during Family Camp week. We have worked hard to create a fun & safe outdoor space for our children. Please treat it well so it may last for years! a. Parents or Guardians, please supervise your children. b. Be welcoming and friendly to everyone C. Take your turn. d. Play Nice! e. Be safe. Use equipment safely, and appropriately. f. Pick up after yourselves. Dispose of trash, & take your belongings when you leave. g. HAVE FUN! BIKE HELMETS: as we encourage children to use the roads and not the sidewalks to ride their bikes, be sure that your child under 14 years of age wears a helmet while riding their bike. Please caution children about other pedestrians and vehicles that may suddenly appear from behind buildings and/or vehicles. GRILLS FOR COOKING are permitted THE COMMUNITY FIRE PIT is located on Intercession Way. a. Please leave the firepit area neat and orderly. b. Nonew fire pits; portable or permanent, assembled or used without prior approval from the Trustees. PETS: We would prefer NO pets on the grounds. a. All pets mustbe registered at the Welcome Center at the time of arrival. b. All pets mustbe vaccinated, and the proper proof is available or they may not stay on the grounds. c. Except for clearly identifiable Service Animals, noother animals are allowed inside or in the general area of camp-owned facilities. (Dining Hall, Chapels, Common Green area, Playground, etc.) d. Pets are allowed in the cottage owner’s residence, on the cottage owner’s lot, and in designated areas. Owners will be nearby while the animal is outside. While outside, animals shall be kept on a leash or lanyard not to exceed 15 feet or in a fenced-in area. They may not enter the roadway unleashed or run at large. e. Excessive barking or noise from animals will not be tolerated. If excessive noise continues after an initial warning. the owner may be asked to remove their pet from the campgrounds f. Excessively aggressive animals ~ the owners will be asked to remove their pet(s) from the campgrounds. g. There is a designated DOG WALK on the perimeter of the grounds. All dogs are to be on an attended leash while walking to and from the area. h. Animals must be cleaned up after. Failure to clean up after their animal may result in asking the owner to remove their pet/s from the grounds. i. We strongly recommended that cottage owners (with animals on the grounds) display a sign that demonstrates that there is a specified animal present in the immediate area. j. All parents are responsible for their children’s actions around any animals on the campgrounds. k. All animal owners will be wholly financially responsible for any bite or personal/property damage that may occur by their animal. WCHCA shall be held free of liability if a bite or personal/property damage occurs. PROGRAMS GUESTS, NON-MEMBERS, & MEMBERS We strongly encourage you to give diligent attention to attending services when you are onthe grounds during WCHCA, Inc. Family Camp week. MEMBERS We strongly urge, as a Member of WCHCA, that your intent is to attend and/or support, physically, financially, and spiritually the WCHCA programs LODGING MARRIED COUPLES As a Christian Camp, we hold strictly to biblical standards regarding the prohibition of homosexuality and sexual contact outside the bond of God-ordained, traditional marriage between one man and one woman. TEENS AND ADULT UNMARRIED COUPLES: a. Those staying in privately owned cottages are under the same rules as those lodging in camp-owned facilities. b. No one under the age of 18 is to stay in any private cottage, RV, tent, or camp-owned lodging without adult supervision on the immediate premise. c. Other than the immediate family, those of the opposite sex are NOT permitted to stay overnight in the same cottage, RV, tent, or camp-owned lodging without adult supervision. INDEPENDENT ADULTS A requirement for staying on the grounds; whether in a privately owned cabin, renting a room in the hotel, or renting an RV lot; is that member is physically and mentally capable of self-care RV AND TENTS SITES are available for Rent, weather permitting; from May 1 – Oct 1. There is no Year-round parking. SEASONAL RENTING; the person will need to apply for membership and be approved by the Board of Directors. PUBLIC SAFETY ALCOHOL, ALL TOBACCO products, and possession or use of all ILLICIT DRUGS are strictly prohibited on these grounds. MOTORIZED VEHICLES (CARS, TRUCKS, SUVS, RVs) Pleasedrive with care for the safety of pedestrians, other drivers, and you. a. An operator of these types of motorized vehicle is required to be a licensed driver. b. The speed limit is 8 mph for all vehicles.. c. Please protect our water lines that are mostly located just below the surface of the ground. Avoid driving on the grassy areas except for parking and maintenance. FOUR-WHEELERS & GOLF CARTS are considered Low-Speed Vehicles (LSV).
The Speed Limit is 8 mph for all vehicles.
An operator of a four-wheeler or golf cart does not need to be a licensed driver.
The driver must be over 16 years of age and follow the same traffic laws/signs as cars on the campgrounds.
Drivers under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Four-wheelers and Golf carts are not permitted to navigate on sidewalks.
The owner of the four-wheeler or golf cart is responsible for any damage and any injury that might occur where the driver of their machine is at fault.
Four-Wheelers and Golf carts shall not be stored in camp-owned buildings.
Please drive safely and watch for pedestrians. Young and Old.
PEDDLING OR SOLICITING are prohibitedwithout prior approval of the BOD. FIREARMS,, fireworks, explosives, or weapons; including BB and Pellet guns are not permitted on the campgrounds without prior BOD authorization. If you have a concealed/carry, please register with the Head of Security. EMERGENCY horn sound. ~ Anyone that is on the grounds, whether in a privately owned cottage or camp owned, will need to assemble at the flagpole, near the Welcome Center. STORAGE of non-WCHCA property is prohibited in any camp-owned buildings. CAMP-OWNED MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT PLEASE ask a Trustee before using. SPECIAL NOTE: The WCHCA is not responsible for the loss by fire, theft, accident, personal injury, or any other cause whatsoever to any owner, lessee, occupant, and his/her visitor/guest. DUMPSTERS HOUSEHOLD – located by kitchen loading dock – household garbage, food waste, used paper plates, plastic wrap TRASH –– located by volleyball field – nonfood, cardboard, plastic, newspaper NOTE: Metal, tin food cans, glass. Stoves may be put in the dumpster. Any appliances with freon refrigerant (fridges, air conditioners) should be left next to the Trash dumpster. There will be a $30 fee for disposal. It is an Honor System. MISCELLANEOUS A $25 charge on all Returned Checks. If a check used to pay either meals or housing is returned by the bank for insufficient funds must be made good with a Cashier’s Check, Money Order, or Cash by December 31 for that year. If not, the involved party will not be allowed to purchase meals/housing the next season until it is resolved.
